ABOUT AIRTIGHTNESS
We are fully qualified professionals who offer you a
testing and certification service for air permeability.
Our Friendly and approachable staff will test your
building to the required standards and assist you to
identify any air leakage paths which may need to be
sealed.
Government targets to reduce national CO2 emissions
by 20% mean that all new buildings must emit 40% less
carbon dioxide than previously allowed.
One way to help reduce heating costs (and therefore
CO2 emissions) is to avoid unwanted draughts.
By taking care where pipe work and electrical fittings pass through the building envelope, air leakage paths can be avoided.
Care taken where different surfaces meet will also avoid gaps that allow draughts.
Your building should have planned and controlled
ventilation but not allow air in or out by mistake.
Designers will include all the ventilation that you
require.
It is our job to check that the building quality is the
same as that on the plans.

Careful Design and Build Quality will make it easy to
achieve the required standards of air tightness.
Building Regulations now require such testing and
certification to show compliance with current legislation
(F1 & F2). |
